Willard Elder

Willard J.L. Elder, 75, of Bowdon died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at his residence.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with the Rev. Lanis White officiating. Burial followed in Buchanan City Cemetery.

Sharron Nixon “Nick” Griffin, 79, of Mount Zion died March 12, 2012.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. March 15, at Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen.

Burial followed in Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Nichole ‘Nicky’ Raschke

Steva Nichole “Nicky” Raschke of Carrollton died Thursday, March 15, 2012. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., March 9, 1979, daughter of Valerie Sharp Hall.

Mrs. Raschke was an employee of Pine Knoll Nursing and Rehab in Carrollton.

Survivors include her husband, James Aaron Raschke of Carrollton; mother and step-father, Valerie and Charles Hall, Bowdon; children, Alexis Raschke, Amber Raschke, Carrollton, Skylar Owens, Dakota Owens of Newnan, Savannah Owens of Bowdon; a sister, Tara Hall of Bowdon; and a brother, Adam Hall of Bowdon.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen with the Rev. Danny Turner officiating.

James Edwin Sims

James Edwin Sims of Mt. Zion died Thursday, March 15, 2012, in a local hospital. He was born in Carroll County on Aug. 27, 1930, son of the late Lee B. Sims and Carrie Musick Sims.

Mr. Sims was a retired employee of the Singer Company and was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Barry Sims.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Norton Sims of Bremen; a son, Jimmy Randall “Randy” Sims of Mt. Zion; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Hightower Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Puckett officiating.
