American Education Week Essay Contest & Celebration Nov 21, 2009 1PM at The Auburn Avenue Research Library hosted by Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
You are invited to join the ladies of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc., Delta Chapter in the celebration of American Education Week. This year's American Education week is November 15-21, 2009. American Education Week spotlights the importance of providing every child in America with a quality public education from kindergarten through college, and the need for everyone to do his or her part in making public school education a phenomenal experience.

local students in grades 7-9 and 10-12 participated in our National Essay Contest by submitting a 500 word essay based on the education week theme: "Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility" Subtheme:" Education- A foundation for every child's success". Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility, reflects the Association's calling upon America to provide students with quality public schools so that they can grow, prosper, and achieve in the 21st century.

We encourage you to join the celebration on November 21, 2009 at 1pm at the Auburn Avenue Research Library to honor the essay contest winners and to help us spread the word about the importance of great public schools in the lives of students.
